Rangers tidbits, Big 12 tourney underway tonight:

From the Newberg Report:

"Jerry Crasnick writes in his ESPN.com column that Orel Hershiser turned down the Rangers' off-season proposal of a long-term deal to remain as the club's pitching coach because he aspires ultimately to be a manager or a general manager."

"[Evan] Grant (Dallas Morning News) proposes offering Mark Teixeira a 10-year, $126 million contract right now. The figure is half of what Alex Rodriguez signed with Texas for."
