Sad statement on the game today that one of the greatest hitters is such an @sshole and pumped up on 'roids. I'd be shocked if Bonds plays again next year with the way people are responding to him as his HR total climbs in the record books. The sign in this picture is well stated but also very much in poor tast IMHO.
Poor taste maybe, but if you look back into the history of the game you can't help but question how today's hitters are blasting 70+ home runs in a season. Good hand eye coordination? Doubtful. Roger Maris, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle all of average build and strength these are the true great hitters of the game. How did they acheive greatness? It wasn't with the help of "supplements" but with a strong work ethic i.e. bailing hay in the off-season to make ends meet. If Bonds does break the record there should be an * by his name. The short of it baseball has been tarnished by the steroid scandal, we have extremely overpaid athletes and greedy owners I understand it's a business but come on let's go back to a time in little league where it was fun to play and we actually cared about being a part of a wining team not chasing HR records and sure as hell not shooting roids. Thank you that is all.
I just want to see how the crowd reacts when bowling ball head hits 715, especially if it is a road game (think of all the garbage that would be thrown on the field). He'd better do it in the Colorodo series starting Friday (if he actually plays).
