Stealing from myself...oh oh ohoh

By the looks of my bank account I think it might be time to delve back into my rollover IRA and withdraw a nice sum of $$$. Christmas shopping just hasn't left me really well off and I gotta have some bank to go skiing in February. To top it all off, I'll need to buy so many things for my apartment (including adult beverages) that I'll need the disposable income. The only way I rationalize this to myself is that I don't have that much money in the IRA as it is and I don't want to worry about bills. Needless to say I got iPod accessories for Christmas when I don't even have an iPod. I've got to do something about this...try and convince me out of doing it HOP. Either do this or rob a jewelry store like Jeff Reardon.

Rangers land Millwood, I'm still tired from the holidays

The greatest gift ever from Tom Hicks and Jon Daniels came to me via tv last night: The Rangers sign Millwood, a legit #1 starter, 5 years - $60 mil. Read about it hurah.

Ya know, I might actually have to purchase some tickets to Ranger games this season. Hicks, that's how you bring fans out to the Ballpark and no, its not called Ameriquest Field.

I'm still tired as a mug from the Holidays and the family beat...my friends probably hate me because I've been so outta reach and shady. Hey, sometime I've got to get my apartment in gear since the plumbing explosion. Love ya.

SonicVision looks pretty sweet!

They need to bring this 'exhibit' to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History or the Omni. The picture above is none other than 'Collective Vision' by Alex Grey. I've got this hanging on the wall of my apartment. To check out Grey's art, scroll down and click on his link on the right.

Read about SonicVision on JamBase or Here.

Back to the Present: I'm a dork

Marty to play Doc??? Hell yeah!
"Fox Heading 'Back to the Future'?" :

Michael J. Fox is heading Back To The Future for a fourth time-traveling movie. The actor, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, admits he's in negotiations for a final film in the series - but only if they make his character as old as he is in real life. The former Spin City star wants to take over Christopher Lloyd's eccentric scientist character, Doc, in the sequel. He tells movie website Moviehole.net, "The only way it would work would be if I played Doc. I'm 44-years-old now and I'm not interested in running around on skateboards! I think after 1, 2 and 3 we all kind of felt we had done it. And I think if they did it again now they would do it with a younger cast and just do a different realisation of it, which would be fun."
UPDATE: Not true, no BTTF4... :(
You can go back to the future too! Buy what you need here.

One of the more spare sports goodbye lists

I've ever seen is posted over at CNNSI.com. I understand George Mikan but come on, they might as well put Richard Pryor on there because he was a minor league pitcher in 'Brewster's Millions'.

Damn this weather sucks. All that I can do when I get home is crack open a cold one... Should be nice for Christmas though.

Sigur Ros

Maybe I'm a little late to the game here but I just bought the new release from Iceland's very own Sigur Ros. Takk... reminds me of a 'Enya/Thomas Newman "American Beauty" soundtrack/Robert Fripp soundscape' hybrid. Definitely interesting and uplifting music.

Critics have been quick to label their tunes 'pretentious' and 'soundtracky'. Maybe so, but at least its something truly different.

They'll be coming to the Bass Hall in Fort Worth Monday, Feb. 27

I told the Grammy folks not to exclude this album!

Field 10 - Jazz Category 45 - Best Contemporary Jazz Album (For albums containing 51% or more playing time of INSTRUMENTAL tracks.):

• Keystone Dave Douglas [Greenleaf Music]

• Soulgrass Bill Evans [BHM Productions]

• The Way Up Pat Metheny Group [Nonesuch]

• The Spirit Music Jamia: Dance Of The Infidel Meshell Ndegeocello [Shanachie Entertainment Corp.]

• Momentum Joshua Redman Elastic Band [Nonesuch]

I wanted them to try, try and leave 'The Way Up' off the list. If they would have left it off, I would go hide in a corner and become the Howard Hughes of jazz music. Anyone looking for a great instrumental jazz disc has to check this album out. It may not be your cup of tea but I'd be willing to bet you'll respect it.

Also, is that Diana Krall a good good? You be the judge
here.

iTunes Addict

All out there that plan to get me a swell gift for Christmas (happy holidays for the P.C. wimps), the very few of you, one thing comes to mind: iTunes gift card.

I've been downloading songs like a summa even though I don't have a Video iPod yet (that'll be my gift to myself for Christmas). At work iTunes is my savior (no, no Christmas pun intended). The good folks at Mac are starting to add more music to their libraries and you can even request them to add your favorite tunes here (I want to claim responsibility for the variety of Pat Metheny Group tunes). Request 'em, they may pop up later if you don't see them now.

In other pretty cool news, NBC just announced a deal with iTunes where they'll start adding downloadable shows onto your Video iPod via iTunes. I might as well just go ahead and purchase the complete first season of 'The Office'. That show is great...

What!

That is all...

(yes, I am in third grade, listening to "Highwayman" by Jennings, Cash, Nelson and Kristofferson, 'The Highwaymen')
